Now More About YOU…I believe you are a brave mover who has decided to take the first step to making a change! Your challenges are unique to you! Yes I know, change isn’t always easy. It requires dedication, patience, and tolerance with yourself. For some people, they’re able to say “I’m only going to eat protein and vegetables for the next three weeks” without a problem. Some people can’t do that –like me. Realistically, self-doubt and other brooding thoughts can get in the way. Something I want to share with you: When I was in my 20s, I was full of DRAMA and ANGST. Life WAS truly challenging, but I didn’t know how to manage my feelings. When venting to a customer at the restaurant I waited tables at, he asked me “well why can’t you just choose to be happy?,” (easier said than done right?). I wanted to throw the slice of chocolate cream pie (yum) in his face! I just didn’t get it –“how do you even do that?”, I screamed inside my head. It’s taken me over 20 years of personal successes and failures to learn HOW to make the choice to be happy and I want to help people find their way to make that choice – hopefully a lot sooner than 20 years from now!
Goal Setting – Let’s Do It!Ultimately, my goal is to empower you to gradually make the transition towards this healthy lifestyle change the same way I learned to, with patience and acceptance of where you are right now so that you can move forward while finding the joy in life every step of the way. That transition begins with identifying why you are looking to make a change in the first place. And my job is to help you find a WHY that you can commit to. The deeper your commitment to your WHY, the more likely you are to achieve your goals.
My ApproachIt’s about keeping you engaged in your life. As your personal trainer, I want you to be ready for life and ready to ENJOY life! Being thoughtful of how you move helps prevent injury and improve longevity. It also improves efficiency in everything else you do, whether it’s power lifting or everyday activities (or improving your golf swing). I will guide you as you learn how to move your body and improve stability. As your health and wellness coach, I commit myself to helping YOU identify your own barriers to achieving your goals and to help you discover ways to overcome them (often ways you have already used in the past)! I encourage you to visualize your own outcomes because I believe and have personally experienced success in doing so. Goal setting is no easy task but much more attainable when someone helps you discover your confidence (self-efficacy) to achieve them. Live Life Moving is a unique and authentic approach to embracing change at your own pace. Doing so in a private and intimate setting gives you the room to be comfortable in discovering you can.

Since 2003, I have been helping people set and achieve realistic fitness goals while integrating health coaching and behavior change tools.
Kurt enjoyed a first career on the professional stage as a dancer and actor. Aiming to recover from various injuries to maintain his active lifestyle, he came across the Pilates method and fell in love. This was his introduction to the world of fitness. Now, 15 years in, he is committed to helping clients and participants move with precision, purpose and joy using the sound principles of the Pilates method. As an entrepreneur, he developed MOVE! the anti-gym – a Pilates and fitness studio in New Jersey, and owned this for nine years. He chuckles realizing he was a “boutique” studio before boutiques even existed! He continues to teach and train Pilates today and loves adapting the latest findings in exercise science into the time-tested Pilates method. He has taught Les Mills programs for 14 years, and has been a trainer/presenter/video presenter for 10 of these years. He holds certifications from NASM in personal training, Precision Nutrition as a Level 1 coach, ACE, AFAA and Power Pilates (Apogee Fitness, NY).

Dawn Mazzeo graduated from Sarah Lawrence College with a BA in Dance and Theatre. It was there she discovered her passion for Pilates. In 2009, she obtained her Pilates certification from PEAK Pilates. Her favorite cardio workout is cycling. In 2008, Dawn received her Spin Certification from Mad Dogg Athletics. Dawn holds a certification in Piloxing (a dance, Pilates and boxing fusion). She is very excited to join the LiveLifeMoving team!
Dawn brings over 20 years of movement experience including dance, Pilates and Spinning. She is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College.
