Meditation 4: Labeling

In this meditation, we will continue to practice the concept of detachment through the technique “Labeling”. 

When we practice “Labeling” we pause during a distracted moment in our meditation practice and label that distraction a “thought” or a “feeling”. 

By giving it a label, we begin to separate the thought or feeling from ourselves, making it easier to begin to let go and be present in the moment.

Thoughts and feelings are quite powerful, so this technique takes practice and you will always find that sometimes your practice will feel easier than others. The point is to keep practicing!
